So, apparently, the famous modding website has been sold, 24 years after it's been founded.
It's founder, Dark0ne, announced it on his website, earlier today.
We don't know who bought it, or how much it was sold for, but Dark0ne wanted to sell ut to someone who would understand his vision.

"What changes now?

Honestly, not a lot, at least not from your side of things."

Miyamoto didn't buy it  💔

"been on a soul searching, someone who gets me, this is me taking care of myself blablablah" it sounds genuine on paper but at the end of the day he sold a site for a huge sum of money

he is also will be on discord annoying the mods and lurking on forums. the old staff is not gone so nothing changed. no it's not gonna be changed for the better.

His vision undoubtedly being him getting paid.
And if you think about it from a broad perspective - selling a forum, a mere little forum, and then getting a huge payout is an accomplishment in and of itself in a way. And a PC mods forum, that is niche as all fuck to boot.

Apparently they're now banning overly-risque Stellar Blade mods...sigh.
Why can't they leave well enough alone? Let risque mods remain untouched?

Why must people and companies be so stupidly prude? We're supposed to be past this by now.

I just hope that it means less ideological mod censorship.
I have no idea where Chosen's interests lie, but whatever company it may be, I'd be surprised if that case with the banned Oblivion Remastered mod getting restored (with caveats) ever happens again; I don't expect anything but removals and bans as was the case with the banned Spider-Man Remastered mod, for example.

I wish the mod community was more flexible to adapt alternative mod repositories, since a lot of automation that exists has only been developed to work with Nexus Mods.

The real tragedy is the fact that out of all the mod websites, Nexus is the most popular.

I wish we could just have people posting whatever mods they want, no matter their political stance on anything
