Havent been in the modding of nintendo for many years mainly other systems and i recently picked up a new 3ds xl 11.8.0.41U and was curious if its either worth bothering to try to mod it since the recent problems or is their a stable way basically starting from scratch ?

It is up to you, ain't too hard to get CFW on the 3DS.

The main reasons for hacking a 3DS are mods, custom themes, homebrew, cheats, and backups. Piracy is something you can do, but it's not what CFW was intended for.

With everyones(alot of) peoples 3ds having deleted and removed any mods or stuff they had on their system

freeShop is now almost completely dead, but there are still ways to get games (freeShop hasn't been around since the start you know), mainly going to that iso site or somewhere else and getting the .cia file of the game you want.
