step1 copy over badupdate to usb stick
step 2 copy over Abadavatar to usb and overwrite the files.
no need to delete rock band blitz

Then it should work, you see a message BadAvatar is free if you pay for it get a refund. Then you wait a bit.

copy everything from the files folder to root usb stick
then copy everything from ABadAvatar-semipublicbeta1.1 to usb and overwrite the files. done.

The advice on ABadAvatar is to cut the connection, copy said $SystemUpdate to a USB, and install it offline before using the exploit. Online system update may be quicker on paper, but doing this saves you from having to check

It's worth persevering to get ABadAvatar to work, Blythe93. Keep investigating the issue. I did exactly as @rainierbaas suggested above, installing the pre-made pack first, then the BadAvatar on top of it, overwriting the files. It works perfectly. I get XEunshackle to boot in less than a minute most of the time. This is so close to a softmod.

I have seen from images that it shows the newer Xbox consoles on the dashboard. Is this all the time, or only when connected to the internet?

Also, I am going to stay with the Rock Band exploit, probably at least until Ryan releases the softmod.

Replace FreeMyXe beta 5 with XeUnshackle beta v1.02, and it's fixed.
If you previously patched any XEX, you'll need to replace it with the same clean XEX.

Hey, I was having the exact same issue. I solved this by disconnecting all USB devices except the USB drive with ABadAvatar and it now loads instantly.

just to add was watching mvg and he was saying he had same problems as you . the problem was there was 6 profiles on the xbox so he deleted some and seem to work

Just FYI you are not alone, I can't get it to work either and I know what I'm doing. I haven't a clue what I'm doing wrong either. The exploit just sits there on the avatar screen with grey avatars. I can move the cursor around, so it's not hung up. I have three orange lights lit up on the front.

I've let it sit for over 10 minutes and just nothing.

I've only got 4 profiles on my xbox and I also downloaded the avatar 17559 update and put it on my USB and it's not prompting me to update, so I think I've got the avatar update. I have functionality that lets me edit avatars, so I think that's it.

EDIT - Ok, so I moved every single profile off my xbox and it still doesn't work, dunno why. I guess I can just wait and see if any future updates fix it. RBB is still very good.

Don't refer to those Mexican/Spanish videos, I recommend downloading ABadAvatar from the official source which is GitHub. There's also a guide on ConsoleMods for how to install it onto the USB drive just like we did with BadUpdate.

Exactly the same issue that I'm having. I have three profiles on my console and one extra that comes with the BadAvatar. Sad to hear that you've run into the same issue as I did but glad that I'm not the only one. The only thing that I'm not sure how to fix is the avatar data missing from the internal HDD. I've tried several fixes so far and I honestly don't feel like restarting my main console over and over again. Will give it a few more tries on one of my spare ones just to see if I can figure it out somehow, might even check on Github/Discord and see if I can get a reply from a dev or someone even more knowledgeable because this is getting ridiculous and annoying. Hehehe And yeah RBB works flawlessly almost every time.

As a last resort, I'll just factory reset my console and see if it'll work after that. I wish it was possible to force the update to reinstall, though. That might fix some of the issues I'm probably running into (and the others that have run into similar problems).

Unfortunately, I still haven't figured it out. Didn't have much time these past couple of days, to be honest. Will see about that in the upcoming days.
