there's a bug in the installer, it's the cause of the CODE DUMP crashes during installation.
if you disconnect the nunchuck from the wiimote, it'll crash instantly, even if you disconnect during the TP hack bootup. leave the nunchuck plugged in the entire time and it won't crash.

If having probs with your SD/MicroSD cards, try formatting them with: hxxp://www.sdcard.org/about/downloads/sdfv2000.exe

I tried formatting FAT and FAT32 with Vista legacy format tool, but the wad installer hung each time.

BTW. Strange that you can delete the channels then it still lets you download from the official shop channel for free... there must be something left over, how else would the shop channel know you had it? Maybe wiiconnect24 has something to do with it.. I leave mine off in case...

Ten bucks say it's Nintendo being lazy and merely checking to see if the Title has existed on the console before and assuming the user has access to the game.

EDIT #1: I found Super Mario Bros. 3 in .wad yippy!

EDIT #2: Got it to install, it was a easy no errors

, i didn't even have to go into the shop channel and get it from there.

I'd install more but i just can't find them all in .wad. I really wish a .WAD Packer would come out.

After the "I just downloaded from the Wii Shop Channel for free" and "Will it be watermarked after install?", I decided to look after the matter.

For the test, I used Donkey Kong Jr., the smallest game.

I installed it from the WAD installer, then immediately copied to my SD card.

After that, I copied the data to my PC.

Then I deleted it from my Wii and re-downloaded from the Wii Shop Channel.

Copied to the SD card, then I checked the CRC32 of the 2 files.

THEY DON'T MATCHED.

So, this can mean 2 things:
- Either the installed channels haven't signed/watermarked to the Wii
- It's Trucha Signed to run

The first possibility is very interesting. If it isn't watermarked to the Wii, then why we need the WAD installer, if we can just copy it straight from the SD card?

But this matter needs confirming. Anybody?

thats because the pirated versions are signed with the trucha bug and the versions you download in the wiishop are signed specifically for your wii. but the wii logs that you installed the pirated version and the next time you enter the wiishop you can dowload the non pirated version, because the wii doesn´t know if the vc game was pirated or purchased.

in case of future ios updates: yes.
because the vc games from the shop are correctly signed and wouldn´t brick the wii when ios37 gets in use, like the pirated versions will obviously do.
but if nintendo does something against these pirates, like banning them from the shopping channel, is another question.

Hm, and what about sending the copied data to the SD to somebody?

He/she can copy the data to his/her Wii and play it? Or it is still watermarked/signed?
