Ok so I'm about to buy a DSi and a flashcart (obviously), and I want to know a few things before a pay for them:

1) I see at DealExtreme.com that they sell the MicroSD, on the product description says it is class 4 and on the reviews someone says it is not even class 1, will this affect in anyway for my porpouse..??

2) Does it has to be some special manufacturing (as in made in Japan and/or only Kingston brand), so if I don't get it from the web I can just grab one at Office Depot or something like that....??

3) Seeing that "N" is giving you 1000 points to get DSiWare for free (if you purchase a DSi before Oct 5th), will I need to update to FW1.4 to be able to get this points (cause I see that with 1.4 F_core you can't soft-reset any game or something like that)...???

I recommend a class 4 microSD (you can get a 4GB SDHC here, which is what I use and has more than enough room for $8.88).

Personally, I've always used Kingston microSD's (mainly because it's the only brand I can get hold of

). But, aslong as you have good read and write speeds; you shouldn't see much difference between brands.

You will have to update to 1.4 to access DSi Ware (it's likely that your DSi will come with 1.4/1.3). If you choose the M3i Zero or Supercard DSOnei they include a firmware writer, which will let you bypass the 1.4 firmware without having to slot it in your DSi (you can find some tutorials on GBATemp or Youtube). Also, the soft reset problem was fixed with Sakura 1.41 X 2nd Edition.

Hope this helps!

Wow ether, finally planning to get your DSi?,

(Weren't you getting a kid too?)

Anyway, Matt basically answered everything.
You should be fine with a class 4 µSD card (of course class 6 is even better). Just don't get unbranded ones.
DX is a good shop, but the shipping time is VERY long (I dunno how long it is to mexico)

The 1000 points are given to you when you enter the shop, so you need 1.4
But the newest M3i Zero firmware works on it.

Maybe this helps too: http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=168049

Yeah I finally got the spare money to get a DSi, right now I'm just waiting for the credit card's cut day, I'm still searching for more places that sells this stuff and are based in Canada (hence I'm in Quebec right now), but if nothing comes out with good price and stock, I will wait the 2 weeks of shipping, maybe I'll order them to ship the cart to México, and my son was born the July 11th...!!

For the colours of Nintendo DSi, I recommend the white Nintendo DSi. Buy that colour in somewhere the province of Quebec, Canada. (You'll buy that on September 15.) The white one looks nicer than other colours.

Well, thats your preference
If he likes another color better, he can buy that one
I have a black one and I'm happy with it

Well, I've got the white one. My nephew's got 2 (two!, dunno why) black ones, and they feel kinda rough on the bottom side. Does that occur with yours, too?

Anyways, I prefer white over any other colour, so I have to agree with antonkan on this one.

EDIT: I win, tj.

I don't know what you feel as 'rough'
I have no white one to compare to
But it doesn't feel bad or anything

And forgot to congratulate Ether for his son in my previous post
So congrats ether

Yes, there's the white-coloured Nintendo DSi in North America. Try looking the white one in retail stores.
