For the same reason they made the Wii region locked in the first place.

They like to have control over what gets released where and when.

Do you guys(& gals) think this update will be required for up coming games? Ie Alone in the Dark?

the game discs have already been made and pressed, i don't think it would have the update on it, it's coming out in 3 days.

Even if new games come out with the 3.3 update on them.. just use brickblocker and/or Trucha to kill the update and play as normal.

Great idea, i suppose there will be so real use for the update, unless useful channels are released that require it...

It just seems their solution is half-assed, there will be a fix shortly no doubt. They should fully commit to stopping piracy in all forms on their console or not bother at all.

if you read the post bushing made on Hackmii it has been stated that this update has been compiled since march.

SSBB pal may be the reason it was released yesterday morning.

remember SSBB comes out in a few days, they have been testing the update for a while.

the disks would have been pressed ~ 3 weeks ago.
thats still 2months 1week that they have had to test it.

Three months to stop the zelda hack isn't to bad.
Next update will kill homebrew channel and all the hacked VC/WiiWare games.
It's not going to be hard for nintendo to find the homebrew channel "HAXX"

Well,

I have a Wii with WiiFree, and a few games patched to remove the 001 error(Mario Galaxy/SSBB/Mario Kart).

So, if i do the update, those games won't work anymore?

It didn't surprise me the Twilight Hack was easy to detect. Different name, icon, and size from my real Zelda save.

What's a workaround mean? Does that mean that there going to come out with a new version of the Twilight Hack? Or that there's going to be a save expilot for a different game?
