I recently posted my Zune on craigslist, and somebody emailed me asking if they could trade me their PSP for it. I asked for the hardware model and firmware and they said that it was, "PSP 1001 Firware 5.50 if you need you can down grade it. 3 games, charger, 512mb card".

If I was to get this PSP, I'm wondering how hard it would be to mod it to the point of playing back-ups and/or homebrew. Will I need to downgrade the firmware? Get that special battery? Any help is appreciated.

its easily hackable and you will need to downgrade yes (as far as I know haha) umm the easiest method I know of is to buy the pandora battery (very cheap at dealextreme) umm you need to install the firmware in a certain order I think to get to the latest CFW but I can't remember that order after that you just need a memory stick pro duo to install the firmware then after that you need the memory stick pro duo to hold the isos of the games check out the sticky for more indepth stuffs

just read Legion's guide in the stickies (blast processing)

if you follow it word for word, you will have a hacked psp in 5 minutes or less
