So last week I bought the new Super Mario Bros game I'm supposed to get it tomorrow...now since then I softmodded my Wii and I'm worried as I've heard about updates that might run when the game is run for the 1st time. Could this potentially brick my system? I have f/w 4.2 if that makes any difference.

Should I run a update blocker before running it? What are the odds of the game causing any issues to my system? I tried to find any info on a legal version of the game with back ups but couldn't find anything.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii contains the System Menu 4.1 update and boot2v4, which is quite safe for the most part.

If you don't trust letting it update, you can run it via Gecko and/or disable disc updates via Preloader/Priiloader/StartPatch.

Does preloader work with 4.2? I see a lot of mention about it for 4.0 but nothing above it. I'm totally a noob at Wii modding. I have a ton of other modded gadgets and am pretty tech savvy.
