Hacking New Super Mario Cheat no longer working

I was wondering if anyone here can help. I updated my cheat.dat file from the link on this site. After I reached level 8 in the game there is no longer a cheat available. I use it for unlimited lives so I don't have to start over when I keep screwing up.

I opened the cheat.dat file with an editor and it shows cheats there, but they no longer show on my menu.

Other games still show their cheats however.

The only other thing I've done lately is install DSTwitter.

Anyway, are you using the original R4 or an R4 clone?

Honestly theres no reason to use the unlimited lives code when you can get your 99 lives on level 2-4 with the turtle.....

just use the editor preferable r4cce remove few hundred of those useless game codes

Anyway, are you using the original R4 or an R4 clone?

I'm using an R4 original.

I didn't know about the turtle so I'll try that out later.

I've tried removing a few hundred cheats out of the games out of the cheat.dat file but it still doesn't show them for the game.
I'm going to delete DSTwitter later today and try that next.

It's just strange how it was there for more than 2 years and now it isn't but all the others are.

yea the r4 and its clones tend to not show up the full list of cheats. just delete the useless ones and ur good to go. The red box r4i doesn't do that tho =D

I deleted a thousand or so cheats and it now works. Thanks everyone! Now I can get past Word 8.
