So there is a new patch coming out for Smash bros 3DS and Nintendo claim that it will address balancing issues altho they don't go into details (and probably never will) but the big issue with this new patch is that previous replays that you have saved will not be compatible with the new patch but to continue playing online , you will need the patch. So i suggest if you have any replay data you want keeping, back it up now with a cam before the patch hits.

So who do you think will get buffed/nerfed? Im sure Rosalina and Little mac are getting nerfed, maybe giving olimar a buff? What are your thoughts?

Also local multiplayer will not be compatible with 1.0.3 or below and 1.0.4 patches. Probably because they are tweaking actual gameplay mechanics. First 3DS game to do this, usually it's just online.

Little Mac is the best ^_^ but to be fair, this is no real surprise as with most if not all games now . . . . . if they complain enough a patch is born :(

There's a lot of balancing to be done. Certain characters just wreck me online and it makes me wonder if it's intentional. A lot of times, I have to exit and re-enter the lobby just to play against someone who doesn't just spam a characters strongest combo over and over. Even people that just sit there and shoot projectiles over and over... I just suicide so they get their win then exit and re-enter to eventually get someone who it's actually fun to play against. Or that Wario thing... With most games like this, they can balance all they want and people will still find ways to cheapen the experience. How 'bout that online lag though? That's the worse offender here.

They did not introduce perfect shielding / reflecting just for show. But its impossible online I guess.

I just checked the american eshop, and the patch is already out.

I'm downloading it.

Confirmed, downloading also. As expected they didnt cover what was patched in the update notes but i will give the game a play and test my mains and a couple of others and will reply with any obvious changes or changes i feel have been made. If anyone else has any characters they feel have been nerfed or buffed, feel free to post. Ill update OP with them

Things i notice immediately.

Rosalina:
- Luma respawn time is indeed increased but its not by much, its barely noticable and not a huge nerf
- I swear that calling luma back is alot faster than it used to be.

Jigglypuff:
- Rollout from the air goes doesnt seem to glitch and go the otherway anymore (altho i cant confirm if this was a glitch or me brainfarting lol)

Zelda:
- i swear her run speed is slower

Bowser:
- Bowsercide no longer works and actually kills bowser first. Brilliant change!

Pacman:
- Normal B feels faster scrolling through his throwable items

In this case, I'd rather start over from scratch. Hate it when games make overhauls with patches in this sense. You play with fire when you update and overhaul a game this way in terms of ranking. Deleted all my data last night, and was greeted with a "We hope you're happy now" response.

There are better ways to do stuff like this, and Nintendo stepped the line when I had to remove all my replays.

hopefully the tweaks make a noticeable difference. but either way i love this game. this is the reason i bought a 3ds the gf had one decided to get my own
