New PS3 Models released to FCC
Unhackable PS3 Models
Sony has submitted filings with the FCC of a new revision of there Playstation 3 Console. The new revisions will carry the model numbers CECH-3001A and B, with DECH-3000A and DECH-S3000S being debugging models. Based on the recent FCC filings, speculation would say these recent models are most likely a new generation of "hack proof" PS3 consoles. Very little is currently revealed by the FCC filings. They both have been approved for Bluetooth 2.0+ and 802.11b/g as well as internal hard disk drives, with the A/B most likely representing different drive sizes.

Exactly. This is just throwing down the gauntlet to the hackers. Do yourselves a favour, Sony. Stop claiming your stuff is unhackable. At this point I'm starting to think the hackers are only hacking your stuff just to prove they can, like it's a matter of their hacker's honour or something.

It seems to me that this mess was started by Sony combating its own customers by constantly escalating attempts toward a 'hack proof' system. So instead of changing their ways, they'll keep doing the same thing and this time things will be different!

Here's a long held view by yours truly:

The PSX was a better system than the N64. There, I said it. It sold 100 million units because it kicked ass.

Odds are the system will be pretty identical to current Slim models, just with some changes to prevent hacking. I don't know what those would be, but they're there.
