Hardware New Pokemon 2DS firmware version speculation

I put a preorder on the EU Charizard version put now i don't know whether i should cancel it or not. The reason for that is that the reason i was buying it was to have a backup unit and unit that i will use one of the R4 card's to play 2DS games.

So my question is that how likely do you think it is that the new Pokemon 2DS comes with the latest 1.04 firmware? If it comes with it then it probably would make getting a working card for it harder.

I'm pretty sure it comes with a download code for the games, so its almost guaranteed to be on the latest firmware. Even if its pre-installed, its still a really good chance of being on 10.4.

You can still downgrade regardless and install the bluecardfix to your Sysnand so you can use an r4 but if you downgrade you might as well install CFW :^)

Why would it be on older firmwares like those? These things usually tend to stay around the update that was released at the time they were first manufactured.

You can also get the MK7 bundle. Comes on 8.x or below. Mine was on 6.0.0.

Because they are in production long before recent firmware what else do you think it would come out with 10.4?

I highly doubt Nintendo is gonna grab hundreds of thousands of new consoles ready to ship open them all up, put them all back to an assembly line, and re flash every Nand chip with 10.4 and re seal them.

Also, so far, all 2DS's that came with download codes have been on the latest firmware. The Yokai Watch bundle just to name one.

If it comes with 10.4, there's no way to downgrade. I highly doubt Nintendo would push out a new system with 10.3 or lower.

Xenon will be most likely be right. I feel that they will load the latest ones with 10.4, so maybe there will be rare ones with a lower firmware version. But, I don't know. Just making guesses.

the pokemon 3ds, 2ds's in all regions are on firmware 10.3 or lower

A german youtuber already got one from nintendo. There is no badge arcade in the home menu, so I doubt it even ships on 10.3

Why should that be preinstalled (which requires a NNID to work in any practical way?)
