Hacking New kernel for R4DS (v1.07)

What i want to know is if anything is added for us who do not want Calendar stuff as two separate files are uploaded.

Each theme does not have to be monthly based. The calendar image is part of the bmp used in the example images. You can put any skin you want in the 12 theme folders in the _system_ file. They will either change each month if you have it set to automatic mode or you can change the skin yourself by pressing the select key. If you have the space on your card this will save you from having to upload new skins from your pc. You can keep your 12 favorite skins on your card.

I'm not sure what version b of this software does differently. It seems to be the same as the previous version.

Probably 1 version changes the skin every month, and the other doesn't? Seems like that should be a setting somewhere rather than a whole different version.

Moonshell won't go back to the main menu when I press the start button on mine (with the new kernel). :'(


Well i am sure you can do it manualy just like i did on my SCLite. Click on the o button in Moonshell in the top left coner and then customize followed by second tab options in which you need to select an option which i can not remember for now as i am work regarding reset.

When you click on reset from that o menu it should take you back to the main menu. TRY IT

Yeah I can do it manually, I know about the top left corner menu, thanks for trying to help. I was just stating what I found out about moonshell. I'm pretty sure that they will correct this.

The kernels are identical, I've just checked their crcs. Only the 'A' version does contain 12 generic themes, that's all. I wonder, are there any game related fixes or it's only a skin update.

i know, it pretty much peeves me off, we have waited 3 months to get this ¬_¬ meh, at least it's something i guess.

Thanks man, it works now. I had a brain fart,I totally forgot about turning on the reset in the game menu. Also thanks to MaHe for helping.

I updated to 1.07... even though I switched back the skin I had previously. The only difference I can notice is now it says 1.7 for the version in the bottom left of default screen.

Too bad they didnt update anything else as far as Im aware.

could i delete folders 11 and 12 and it only cycle through 1-10?

Hm when I push START in moonshell, i get an Error... doesnt support type...
Any solution to Softreset from moonshell? (Btw. Softreset on Gamesmenu is activated). If I choose RESET.MSE from the moonshell Menu he shows the same problem.

I was getting that in 1.06... was my first time using moonshell, figured I was doing something wrong.

2007/Mar/12 update R4 v1.7 firmware
1）elecctronic book supports dualscreen (press SELECT to switch to top&bottom screen, left & right screen mode), singlescreen mode, backlight close for powersavng.

2）main menu changes from h/m/s to months/day/hour/minutes


3）supports themed DI function(further improve the original DIY skin mode, changable with font colorand bar color), supports previous skins.


4） Theme skin supports manual change (SELECt on main men), also supports auto change by month.

5）create a themes folder in the _system_ folder, then create sub-folders from theme01--theme12, and put the skin in the corresponding folder.

For all these people asking about rom compatibility, what the hell do you want fixed? There's already perfect compatibility with all games. I guess you could want download play fixes or something, but other than that, what could you possibly say needs to be done for rom compatibility.

Better homebrew support, and I think download play support is hard to fix.
