well i skip stetp2. I mean i did the update troguuht the console. Is that ok? I think i burn the fuses d:1. NAND Backup with Hekate
2. ChoiDojour Update to 6.1.0
3. install Atmosphere or SX OS
4. have fun
AND TURN THE INTERNET OFF ^^.
If you just want to pirate games then go for this. Make sure you make a nand backup (and a new one after each firmware update) and start playing. SX OS works like a charme and is well supported so far. And as always stay offline with your console.Just buy sx os
You should actually make sure the WiFi settings are wiped out and all networks forgotten, then set Airplane mode and most importantly, do not run any homebrew or test any XCI or NSP installs before you make a backup of the NAND. My first CFW Switch got restored and automatically banned because it auto-connected to the house WiFi and I tested out running ReiNX and a small eShop NSP install before I made my NAND backup.
Needless to say, my Switch phoned the log files to Nintendo upon connecting and got the hammer, almost immediately.
at this point im using atmosphere and it works like a charm. I did a clean backup nand at 6.2 and later i installed some nsp to test. Now im deciding to buy a jig rcm or autrcm? what option is better? I dont care using a pc or a phone evertime i power off my switch to inject the payload. But i think using a paperclip can be dangerous to my pins. what you guys think? and yeah. I'm always in airplane mode. Maybe i will follow the dns setup to block nintendo servers. If you just want to pirate games then go for this. I just use a bit of aluminum foil (instead of a jig), my Windows PC, quality USB-C cable, with the Switch set to AutoRCM and have no need for a jig or Payload injector dongle-type thingy.
The only thing with AutoRCM is to understand that it may seem like it's not on, but it actually is (and slowly draining battery) so when the console resets, crashes, or battery dies, you will need to re-inject the payload. TegraRCM GUI is what I use and is always running on my Windows PC and whenever I need to reinject the payload, it's always waiting so all I need to do is plug it in and it's set to automatically inject the payload I want. I always have an Anker battery with me when I'm away from home so I don't need to worry about it dying but beware that some homebrew apps, and even games may crash the Switch so you will need to inject the payload again when that happens.
I'm making my own payload dongle out of a ZeroPi W for on-the-go situations that may require the payload re-injected.
should i update it to 6.2.0 trought the console?
Well i did it trought the console. Later, i did a nand backup and after that i injected payload and load some nsp to test. I'm not planning to use online fetuares since i can use youtube or similiars in my tablet and the main reason why i did this is because i'm not planning to play online in a console. I prefer my pc. tyYour call. I'd keep it offline if it was me though. Ban or no ban. You're in a similar situation as me where I was on 5.1 before doing CFW. What I did: Nand backup, buy sx os, wait a couple weeks for it to arrive from China, install it once it arrives, and then I waited a few months before finally going to 6.1 using ChoiduJourNX (offline). I wish I could link some of the YouTube guides I liked, but the dude's channel got shutdown for making SX tutorials.
As long as you've made your NAND backup you're golden, pony boy. Restoring back to stock and then back to CFW is very easy should you ever have any issues. Your only concern with bricking is if you use an older custom theme not made for 6.x.x FW or any app that allows you to alter your internal NAND files unnecessarily.
I'm use ReiNX 2.0 but will give Atmosphere a whirl and let you know. Good luck and welcome to the world of CFW. It's only gonna get better and better!![]()
