Oh well that's pretty cool, but you can already use original GCN controllers on Switch with an adapter.

Wish they would make a rerun of original GameCube controllers. I have an adapter but those things are super expensive first party and very fickle third party.

i love those controllers and i m happy to have them back
although i m using a ps2 Controller on my Gamecube as i m too lazy to buy a real gamecube controller :S I ll buy one for my switch then

Just bought a Mayflash adapter for my Switch but I could see myself buying 4 controllers for Smash Bros. Like Nerdtendo said the OG Gamecube controllers are expensive and it's the only way I can play it. (Wii remotes were eh. Wii U gamepad was pretty sweet.)

I'm pretty sure they're USB. BTW the Hyperkin Procube also exist if you want wireless GameCube style pads that work on PC

well, ya don't necessarily need to use a gc controller specifically for gc games and ninty brought gc controllers to the wii u just for the sake of smash so...ya :/
I wouldn't hold my breath on gc vc but it could happen since unoptimized emulation of the gc seems to work on the switch to a degree. I say unoptimized in the matter of the emu not being optimized for switch hardware
