Hacking New Firmware?

Hi Guys!
Does anyone have any ideas about the next version of the
DSTT firmware? Is the team still active?

Its looking like the DSTT team have given up on the DSTT, which is a pity because the DSTT use to have one of the best support teams, but that was until all the fake started to appear. The last worthwhile update was about 7 months ago, and if you ask opinion the DSTT is fast becoming the next R4, others might disagree.

maybe they'll work on the DSTTi now.... sadly i think i'm gonna get an itouch ( as in a ipod touch not the flashcart )instead of a DSi thou cuz then i can text on it but i heard infinteSMS is shutting down =( unless there's a SMS for the DS

Every two months a little udpate appears, so one should be dropping soon.

The last firmware update was Jan 6, so it's been about 3 months.

The DSTTi uses the same codebase as the DSTT, so it's unlikely that they will work more on the DSTTi than the DSTT firmware. Most of their time has (it seems) been spent on developing fake-killer code. Most of the latest updates only fix one or two games.

Compare that to the Acekard 2 which is only about $5 more than the DSTT, is updated regularly, and has AKAIO (custom menu system) that is one of the nicest menu systems on any flash cart.

It says on the website it should be updates at least
every 3 months (not saying it will be, but..

).
Well, even if support for it is stopped, they're is alot
of other alternative's available

The problem isn't really the frequency of the updates, it's the content of the update. Most of them fix 1 or 2 obscure games, but don't fix the problems that have plagued its menu system from day 1 (such as a lack of ability to sort games alphabetically), much less add features that other comparable flash carts have (such as support for GBA).

It's amazing how Yasu puts to shame the updates DSTT Team releases.
Until YSMenu+Firmware combo continue to work well, will be using this.

The DSTT team doesn't usually release an updated firmware unless a game is released that flat won't work with the existing firmware. That's just how they do it.

Yeah, on one side this seems to be a better way to release firmware,
it gives time for the developers to do other things and not get bored and abandon the
product. If only folder-browsing was supported though..

The last few firmware releases were mainly just to add fake-killer code. They fixed one or two obscure games while they were at it, but they were mainly just to add fake-killer code.

I think that there will most likely be other firmware updates but I want them to be better like adding more compatibility for homebrew since some homebrew doesn't run on the DSTT. I want the changes in the firmware to be more drastic.
