New DS Flash Kit - eWin 3

On one hand, I like having multiple options when choosing what card to buy, but on the other hand I feel kinda sad seeing all of these flash kits being announced as it really proves there are a lot of people out there who want to profit (albeit indirectly) off others' (read: game developers) hard work.

I don't think there's enough mention here of the $6 memory pack! That would be the most awesome thing ever if it actually works. I would buy this card in a heartbeat if it did.

this is AWESOME! But I'm dying to buy a flash cart, and it seems that every time i set my mind on one, another even better one comes along! i just wish they make the ultimate cart already (ala jtroye32)

well i think i buy this 1 or the mirconinja as soon as it comes out together with the memory pack . to bad i see alot of new devices coming but not 1 release date.

I seriously don't know which slot-1 device I'm gonna buy. I like DS-X so far ... the only cons for me is the price and storage capacity. Maybe I'll try to convince myself that 512mb is enough.

Would the memory pack be able to be used with other slot-1 carts?

I really do hope they make a Slot 1 with a side-loading MicroSD slot.

Having them front-loading often worries me that they could perhaps fall out, even if it's perfectly inserted.

The convenience of a front-loading slot far outweighs the risk of the card falling out. Just stick a piece of tape over it.

The $6 price applies to the rumble pak only. There is no price info on the memory pak yet.

agreed, all waiting on a slot1 solution like the DS-X that supports microSD. If nothing is out by xmas that supports download play like DS-X can im just getting that... 512mb will be enough for me but its always nice to have more space + sd card compatability. Game compatability for ds-x is just a firmware problem, and will eventually be fixed to 100% (especially if it kicks off as the best card, = more support)

As a DS-X owner I can say I'm not worried at all. In fact I'm excited to see all these new Slot1 solutions coming to market. Especially the ones with removable storage, since that was the one thing I would have liked to change on the DS-X.

I can't wait to see the GBATemp review of this card.

Here-here. I second that. I am definitely not worried. I have been happily playing games with my NDS, while others have been waiting for something better to come out and trump ds-x. Waiting and waiting and waiting. The bottmline is that it makes no sense to wait for something to come with the hope that it is better than what is out on the market. I do hope this ewin card suceeds. More competition is great for everyone! It might make the DS-X team consider making an new ds-x SD cart....unless they are already working on it as we type....
