Only as generic as Persona 3 or 4. I don't see why people don't like the new art style; it's nice, clean, detailed.
I'd rather have had another proper Shin Megami Tensei game, like 2 or If... .
Not too sure about it being a Tactical RPG either.

I'll definitely give the US release a spin, though.
And in the meantime I'll paste a transparant piece of black paper over my DS while I play Etrian Oddyssey 2, and pretend it's all steampunk and GRIMDARK.
