It's been a long time coming. After being announced last year and very little else being revealed since, we now have not only a new trailer, but a release date for the upcoming single-player entry to the Splatoon series. The game sees you exploring the Spirhalite Islands as you hunt for treasure, making use of familiar gameplay mechanics to fight the various aquatic adversaries you encounter on the way.

Yes, yes. We all know you're a pirate waiting for someone to break the firmware so that you can pirate Switch 2 games and pretend you've always liked whatever you pirated (or whatever bs excuse that those who are guilty about their piracy use to try to justify their actions).

Nobody should have to explain why they're pirating, it doesn't matter in the end, as time is still being spent on discussing and feeding the Nintendo ecosystem, it is apathy that you should be worried about.

I have gratitude for software exploits, and the titles Nintendo makes.
Guilt itself, at least in this specific context, is honestly a truly useless expense.

Honestly, I'm way more into a single player game, I bought Splatoon 3 when it came out and got bored of the gameplay loop after a week.

For me, Splatoon 3's single-player game beats the pants off the first two games. Especially the end boss battle. Such an amazing reveal too. Splatoon 2 had the weakest single player campaign so far, and Splatoon 1's was basically perfect for the first game.

(I beat Splatoon 1 without ever touching the right stick, as I didn't know how to play 3D games with two thumbsticks yet.)

Hopefully this is fun for solo mode, I've played other Splatoon single player games and it felt like tutorials how to get used to it before playing online.

Try beating the golden kettle in Splatoon 3. Put your money where your mouth is, and earn your bear ears like I did. I threw myself at the wall for about 5 days just on the first 3rd of that run. (It's VERY long, and split into 3 sections with no savepoints between them. You die, you start ALL over in that section.)

Yes. You are right about that, and I agree. So why do people keep trying to justify their piracy by trying to claim a "moral high ground" or one of 30 other asinine and dubious-at-best excuses? When we all know the true reason why they do it.

It's one thing to expect Nintendo to improve in some areas, and I'm not arguing against that. I myself have once or twice expected more from first-party games (Animal Crossing New Horizons, for example - despite the increased customization and how much I still enjoyed the day-to-day gameplay, I was expecting a bit more from it after having played GC, City Folk, and New Leaf prior).

It's another thing for someone to go on a pointless rant while trying to claim "I'm not a pirate" when someone else points out - in response to "I'm not buying this game for 2+ years" for a console that hasn't yet been jailbroken - that they've very clearly implied/proven otherwise in the past. It just screams "I'm insecure about my actions and don't like being called out on them, so I'll call you a child and claim you know nothing about me to make myself feel better." (I've seen that particular song and dance enough times to know when it's just a poor attempt at gaslighting and bluffing.)

I beat that kettle. It took me so many tries to actually clear just the first section. Funny enough, the grindrail section was actually the easiest part for me - only took me two tries to beat it (first time, I wasn't expecting the part at the end).

I've *never* managed to beat AA. I'm at EVP in Salmon Run, but I've never beat even the first section of AA. It's an insanely hard level.

Yeah, it's truly a gauntlet. After I beat it, I didn't take my bear ears off for about a year because I wanted to show that I had what it took and put the work in and earned 'em.

My two cents is that they want to engage somehow, but I'm not sure putting up a front in the form of hostility a good way to communicate, or belong in general; there is clearly some disconnect between the relationship these people have with Nintendo...perhaps its an all too common insecure attachment problem.

I.E "I pirated this, therefore I must be bad- no, Nintendo is the bad one for making me do it! I hate them, *Bing Bing wahoo weeeee yipeee sounds in the background*"

My take is that you can't pirate friendship, you have to create the fun that others are also looking for, Nintendo can't offer you friendship, that's left for players to have within themselves, each other.
Negativity comes from a sense of powerlessness, isolation, so this is a way to obtain a sense of agency too, to not see piracy with any internalized prejudice, but to enjoy the medium for what it all currently has to offer.

whoopie another switch 2 game that was meant for the switch 1 now changed for switch 2 ... ugh. i really wanted a single player splatoon game and now that i know its meant for only switch 2 which by the way, the games been confirmed to be finished a year or so back, and it was teased around the time sp2 was a thing if i remember correctly, meant to release around 2018? i believe it was? forgot but yeah.. just knowing these facts makes me feel disgusted even more. i know crutendo can easily port this on switch 1 but since they're desperate coporate ass wants money badly.. and they're own switch to piggy bank 'players' - a ton of them cant handle the fact that their trashy copy pasted design of switch 1 - games are expensive as heck, gotta wait for a sale for them realistically.. i highly doubt this will have the same amount of actual players than splatoon 3 or 2 has.

im gonna wait and see how far this crap lasts on switch 2. see the fake count of sales that they always release , i dont believe in it anymore, i just found it, its rigged. the things these douche bags do to justify there giant numbers is scummy.

but yeah.. until a switch 1 version releases? or eh

You must really love roguelikes/roguelites, then. They're typically in the USD $20-$40 range, and you can see the credits for those and put them down after finishing your very first run within the first 1-2 hours. If you're lucky enough to not die to RNG or a moment of pure stupidity.

I get it, but it’s just not my thing. I’m more into mythology and monster-type games like Zelda and God of War, so that’s what I enjoy. This one just doesn’t click for me. I respect that you like it though—that’s cool. Just sharing my opinion.

Fair enough. I will say I was only partially serious with my comment. The joking part was in response to the "like a film" part of your comment (since a lucky first clear of any roguelike/roguelite would have you seeing the credits at around the same point as a movie).

The struck-through part was personal experience - my first runs of Side Order and Risk of Rain 2 were not flawless, and RNG screwed me over for my first two Side Order runs. For Risk of Rain 2, it was a mix of learning new gameplay/mechanics compared to the first game, RNG, and not having ideal equipment due to RoR/RoR2 locking items/equipment behind achievements, and it took me a few runs of unlocking achievements and experimenting with survivors before I finally defeated the final boss (...before failing the escape sequence because I WAS NOT EXPECTING A METROID-ESQUE ESCAPE SEQUENCE! Was way more prepared the second time).
