Hardware New console, can I sign in with a banned nintendo account?

Hi all,

I have a banned switch, and have just purchased a new switch lite.

Can I sign in with the same account from the banned console on the new lite? or will this cause a ban on the new console?

Yes, the accounts are almost never banned. It's the console they often ban.

It's not a guarantee but I never heard of a Nintendo banned account except when it's been with Credit Card fraud.
It's not like Nintendo are sad you bought another of their hardware

Yes, the accounts are almost never banned. It's the console they often ban.

When you get game-specific banned, they first ban the account. After you log in on a game-specific banned account to the game, it triggers a red flag on the console, and then a console ban for the game also gets applied.

That's why the first day you're banned from a game, it shows error 2124-5114 (...restricted for this Nintendo Account), and then the next day it becomes 2124-4607 (...restricted on this console).

So yes, they do ban accounts, but only from specific games.
