Top screen of my N3ds xl is starting to flicker it looks weird etc.. happened only recently :(

i am a gw user .. and have emunand etc. installed.

why is this happening !?

It's probably a hardware issue, I doubt it has anything to do with GateWay and EmuNAND.

thought so too...

and to my other homie , mate i still have this problem since this morning, it is now evening

i turned it off and on and still have the same issue ;___; i love my n3ds whys this happening to me .

so since this is no software issue it wont matter if i format it even 1000 times ;__; .. guess i will try taking out battery and replace it back in ..

This sorta happened with my DSi before, i would leave the battery out over night and not charging the DS, then try tomorrow morning!

Guys, i took battery out and was to eager tried it right away ,

turned it back on and the top screen is abit less flickery.... you know it is like a dim flicker , dimming at a high rate.

and now got much slower , hm and btw. i notice a Orange led is on now !? o_O what is that light ?it is right abit next to the power LED

Had the Same issue, this worked for me

Backup all your Important Data (just in case)
Disable Auto-Brightness and Energy-Save Option.
Play until your Battery is low and your 3DS isnt Starting anymore.
Take out the SD Card with Emunand
Take out the Battery for 5 Hrs+ (Better over Night)
Put the Battery back in and overcharge it

Fire up your 3DS (without an Inserted so card) and Format on Sysnand (be aware) this unlinks the Emunand from Sysnand !
And now try if the flickering is gone.

Overcharge in Detail:
Play your Battery down until the device isnt Starting anymore
Charge the Battery back until it is fully loaded (the light goes out but LEAVE THE POWER CABLE INSIDE THE DEVICE, SO IT GETS CHARGED EVEN YOU DONT SEE IT - Better over Night)

After 2+hrs in this State (or After you Wake up), unplug the Power cable and Plug it back in.
And leave the device in this State for 2hrs+

That is an overcharge.

Every Device nowadays notices if its fully charged but even this, needs to be calibrated.
Charge your Device once or twice in a month with this Method and you will notice an Huge Gain in Battery life and Play Time :)

Little Tip:
After buying a new electronical Device i charge it this way the first 4 Times.
Then only once or twice in month this way

Every of my batterys work like new, from iPhone, over PSVita to 3DS :)

this happened with your n3ds btw?! or you mean other 3ds?

and yes bro i used to charge my 8500MAH galaxy S5 battery overnight... LOL , but never done this with my n3dsxl .just calibrated it once like i ran the battery down to 0% until it turn itself off.

but i will follow your exact methods.. and hopefully it will do the trick for me.. thanks for your advice ^n^

All the 3DS XLs I've seen in person have had one fault or another, mostly with the speakers Nintendo really failed at quality control with the XL.

the problem for me has gone, after taking battery out and then placing it back in after some hours....

i noticed a 3d like gloss problem once and well i can only say one thing,

my Top screen behaved very strangely since some week ago...... first glossines screen and yesterday the Flickery Dimming ..............

i was like what the hell is next !? i turn it on now and luckily the top screen looks fine ..

i just left mine on for 1 hour and it slowly went away i am not sure what is caused by this

lol.. same thing to say, weird as f*** :/ the problem lasted hours until it was gone, after i took out the battery and back in twice until the flickery weirdness stopped .

it happened to me today for less than 1 minute and it was barely noticeable, it probably has something to do with the ribbon cables, because i dropped my n3dsxl twice but the hardware still works fine, so that may be coming into effect, i am sending in my n3dsxl to katsukitty for a capture card so i can record hacks in hd and put it on my channel so they should be able to fix the problem there for me along with installing a capture mod

Please note the way they built the N3DSXl. One very little drop of any type of liquid will completely fuck everything up.

except i dropped it twice and the screen flickered once for me and the hardware was fine afterwards, plus you can do a simple fix if you have soldering stuff and fix the motherboard, it's most likely a ribbon cable problem, good thing katsukitty's capture mod they actually fix anything in the motherboard that isn't functioning correctly before they install the capture mod so i should be in luck! :) the hardware was still working just fine it was just a small graphical issue that persisted for a good hour
