So I dropped my new 3DS like an idiot and the R Shoulder button was what hit the ground. Fortunately there was only very minor scratches on the button and nowhere else on the system. However, when I press the R shoulder button, it feels 'mushy' now. If I press the top half of the button, it doesn't register that I pressed it. If I press the bottom half, it feels fine and it works. I open up the inside of my N3DSXL and I checked the shoulder buttons. It seems perfectly fine, nothing broken, dented, or misaligned. No matter how many times I check or realign it, it doesn't feel the same as it did before I dropped it.

Is there a place where I can buy a replacement button for my New 3DS XL? My N3DSXL is red, but I don't really mind a different color shoulder button as long as it works.

Off topic, I was talking to a Nintendo represenative about sending in my 3DS for repair. The first time I called they said I can send in my 3DS even though I had open/tampered with it. The second time I called they said I can't send it in and that they can tell if I open it as there some kind of seal that gets broken. Which representative is right and how does this 'seal' work (does it even exist)?

If this is anything like DIY 3DS maintenance, you'll have to wait for people to start scrapping N3DSes and selling the parts on ebay-- which isn't really happening yet. Best chances are with trying to get Nintendo to repair it. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo is using the same type of shoulder button for the N3DS as they did with the old one. If a repair from Nintendo isn't an option, there are cheap old 3DS parts you can give a shot (no guarantee).

Unfortunately they are not the same as the new shoulder button ribbon cables also include the new ZL and ZR buttons.

    If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

    I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

    Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

    @BigOnYa,
    and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

    There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
    Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

    That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
