I don't mean to be rude or anything but please use the search feature in the forum to search up the topic before asking a question on the topic that has been asked to death since the announcement of the New 3DS XL in North America.
The correct answer is nobody knows until someone actually posts up a video or pictures showing the New 3DS XL's firmware for North America and that might not happen until the official release date on February 13, 2015 when end users finally get their hands on one and flood the internet with videos and pictures showing the actual firmware on the console.

I don't have a wii u anymore to test it myself, but if homebrews are not visible on the wii u menu I think you can press L + R + minus to open the plugin menu, there should be an option called "homebrews on wii u menu" or something similar -

Or when your player dies, you can say in code, if enemy exists, do nothing, but if enemy does not exist, then create enemy at certain spot. (This would be a pain tho for lots of emeies)+1 -

Easiest, simple way would be just restart scene, but player would restart from beginning.
