Hacking New 3DS XL black screen power light only after copying files to a new MicroSD card, help!

As the title states, i moved files to a new microSD card, plugged it into the 3ds and I only get a black screen. I am able to access Luma and GM9, and I can see all the files on the microSD when I browse them in GM9.

Any suggestions here?

Fixed it, reinserted the SD card a few times and now its working. weird.......

Now, being on 11.6, is it safe to update to 11.8?

Update to Luma 9.1 first before updating to 11.8 and YES, it's safe.
