Gaming Netflix Wii Disc (update)??

Hi there just wondering since I just got my netflix disc in the mail and when I run it . Its asking for a update . I have a homebrew Wii 4.2u Just wondering whats it updating and is it safe . Thanks

I thought 4.3 would becoming with it. Anyone have answer here? Is it safe to use the netflix disc update? Does it update the SM to 4.3?

I know netflix wii-disc just came out today. We may have to wait a few hours for an answer

You could get the newest WiiXplorer to open the disc, look at the update, and list some of the files.
And I highly doubt 4.3 is on that disc.

It's nintendo we're talking about here. I wouldn't put it past them to require an ios update.

I kind of doubt that. All reports up to now say netflix runs from the disc.

I just got mines too.
I have a Wiikey installed that should block updates, but still I'm not too sure I should perform the required update.
Anybody tried it yet ?

Well I went ahead and performed the update.
Nothing seem to be broken so far, but then again I have a wiikey installed.
This disc rocks !
Very nice and sleek menu, nice icons, ability to browse instant playing movie or TV, add to your queue, play, rewind....forward....categories,favorites...you name it !
Very well done, the streaming takes just a few seconds to start and I didn't notice any difference in quality compared to my PC hooked up to the TV via HDMI.
When you insert the disc for the first time it connects itself to netflix and gives you a code.
Next you log in with your computer on netflix.com/Wii , insert the code and you are all set ! Ready to go.
I'm super happy, I'm enjoying it so far !

It has system menu 4.1, and the only text in the update.inf is "2009/07/03", so it seems like an old update. I don't know why it's trying to update people already on 4.2.

I have 3.3U, I DLed the ISO of it, plays fine with no updates thru ANY loader.
Jeez, people, stop freaking out with this one!!!

Just threw it in USB Loader GX and played with out a problem. I realize there is a 1% of me ever actually using this, but the geek in me can't help but giggle a little bit.

Just curious. the DVD Drive part of my wii is broke. It wont read any disc I put inside of it at all (My Wii Failed the 3 year old son test). currently I am on sm 4.2 and softmodded and using cfg usbloader and usbloader gx and everything else is working just fine.

My question is so I need to disc to get a code? I downloaded a "Netflix - USB Loader GX - Forwarder.wad" that I was gona install.

Im guessing that I can install the channel wad to launch the netflix browser or what ever? How does the usb loader work into the whole thing?

Bottom line is I was hoping to check this netflix thing out on my wii but the dvd drive wont read ANY discs.

Can I still check out Netflix on the Wii with a broke dvd drive?

If your loading Wii games, Netflix ISO, from usb, your DVD drive is'nt even a factor.
Your ordering and watching streaming video from the internet directly to your Wii.
You DO need to DL a netflix ISO of the disc, thats all.....

Awesome Thanks. Thats what I figured. I just found a 37MB (zipped) 4.37GB (unzipped to an iso) and im about to install it here in a few using WBFS Manager 3.x. and see what I can get into.

So im guessing that once the ISO is installed into my WBFS partition on my usb drive then it NetFlix will show as a game I can start then input account info ect.. and off I go. Interesting...
