SSA releases it at 12:01am the day before your “date of payment, except if the 1rst (SSI) or 3rd (RSDI) falls on Sat & Sun; then at 12:01am on the PRIOR Fri. (Some banks & “cards” “advance” it early,) Everyone else gets theirs on a Wed; so same as above with the 12:01am.

I do not understand what does that mean above ? My friend said his ssd is on 3rd of May (Sunday) but weekends doesn't count then what does that mean ? May 1 Friday ? He said he received it from America in Portugal through change direct deposit and he is an American citizen and his direct deposit didn't show up yet on May 3rd (Sunday). His SSD did show up on April 3rd Friday. I dont understand. Could that be because you have to wait 1 to 3 business days before it show up ? It could be tomorrow or Tuesday ? ? Thanks.

Give more context here. What is "it"? This reads like a GCSE maths question.

SSD is Social Security Disability.. He is disability and he got every month on the 3rd.. For an example, April 3rd could be on Monday-Friday.. Depends but not count on the weekends.

He moved to Portugal on March and he called in Portugal in America Embassy and gave them information to changed direct deposit and they did so. He waited for 15 days in process. They said he should get direct deposit on April 3rd on Friday. And he got it already. May 3rd is his direct deposit but its on Sunday which mean May 1 was on Friday. However, Portugal holiday is closed on May 1 Friday.. Labour day.

I would assume he gets it the next normal weekday when bank transfers are processed.

I think I know why he isn't getting on May 1st Friday because of this:

Your benefit payment will be sent through the banking system in the country where your account is and will generally post to your account on the regular payment date.
However, delays in direct deposit can occur when a payment date fall on a holiday in the country of the receiving bank. With direct deposit, you will have immediate access to your money. This is the safest way of receiving your benefits.

Which mean tomorrow or Tuesday, right ?

This can different a lot depending on country, but at least how it works in Sweden is that any bank transfer initiated on a banking holiday will be processed the next working day meaning that if Portugal is anything like that then yes he should receive it either tomorrow (or possibly the day after.)

I never knew since I am Portuguese and lived in America. I am learning something anew about Portugal Holiday's schedule. May 1 is labour day so he will have to wait tomorrow or Tuesday. Stupid holiday. LOL! Thanks! Much appreciated.
