Hacking Need rednand help

I'm at the point where i'm dumping nand. I put 64gb sd card with cfwbooter and fw.img into my wii u. fw.img is in root. When i start cfwbooter from homebrew launcher it throws me back to the home menu. i'm not sure at what point am i supposed to tap the power button, also on console or the gamepad? And is there any risk of brick during the nand dumping phase?

It should tell you when to press the power button. You have 60 seconds to press it before it kicks you out of the dumper.
Maybe you're not using the correct fw.img file?

i copied the fw.img from the bin directory.
when i boot, the screen stays black for a few seconds and then it throws me to wii u menu

Can anyone help me out? i'm trying to compile iosuhax, but i get this: "make: armips: Command not found". From what i can gather, i need to install armips, but i can't find any instrucitons on it. I'm doing everything on linux.

I just added this link into my wuphax thread to hack vwii and maybe it helps here too, I just compiled armips to work on any windows system down to stock xp (yes, I even tested this), so this should give you no trouble at all anymore, its all statically linked into the exe itself.

Use this armrips for Windows (the one linked in the quoted text). You can edit the makefile to find it in whatever directory you place it in.

Set it to PATH, or put it in a folder that's set as PATH.
