Gaming Need help with Xbox 360 live options

Sorry my bad entirely (I should not do things on autopilot). I also looks like you might be priced out on amazon for half decent powerline ethernet.

As for speeds it varies a bit with the equipment you are using, the house wiring and a few other things (some things send all manner of nasty interference back into the rings) but as fast as wifi (wireless G)- faster than your internet probably runs at and without the dropout and other fun things associated with wifi and should still be good enough for some file transfer/video streaming (point to point sort of thing- I would not try to run a full blown network on it).

does the item plug into xbox 360 then i plug the other box into to router for connection, they way you talk it sounds like it just powers things???

I suppose in the end there are numerous options but the very last on my list would be an official MS adapter.

Do these things work well, I will probably get that but has anyone used something like this before it looks cool, how fast is data transfer compared to a wired connection

that thing doesn't deliver ethernet via powercabling, it delivers power via the ethernet cabling. Not of use in the situation.

In all honesty, your best bet is to try drill a hole through the floor. If you can't do it, you're definitely doing something wrong, as a floor shouldn't be difficult for a normal wood drill bit to get through, then you just need to put your cable through and hey presto!
Hell, if you guys are willing, you can get a professional to install Ethernet Sockets into all the walls (like power sockets) and then install a gigabit switch somewhere out of the way and run 'em all through that.

the Ethernet is out of the question now, under my room were i would drill is all the wire leads since the electric box is there, plus are water heater is under my room so i would need to dodge pipes and wires, not to mention get through the floor to be able it would be just to much work it wold be better to get some kid of wireless device

There are power ones which is what I linked first time around not thinking about it. They do exist in network form though.

The idea is that each end looks like a standard network cable and will work as such with any device that uses it. The middle part though plugs into the house mains and uses the wires that exist for that instead of normal network cable with the data being superimposed on top of the AC wave and data extracted the other side. Naturally your power cables are not nice twister pair shielded goodness that exists inside a proper network cable but it gets the job done (especially when most internet providers can manage speeds far far below that of the various network standards that float around).

As for "dodging" I will mention most wires and pipes will be bundled together in most houses and not spread out leaving you to play a more expensive version of minesweeper, if you can get a floorboard up even better.
