So my bro and I both got PSPs for Christmas and we wanted to install a cfw on at least one of the them. I heard that if the PSP is in one of those old boxes (ones were there is a see through plastic and the PSP itself is visible) could be hacked. So one PSP has that box, and the other has a regular box. The problem is that they both came with OFW 4.01 and I wanted to know if it's possible that one dosen't have the new motherboard. Also is there any quick way to check?

Do you have a PSP Slim and a PSP phat? Or are they both phat or slim?

If you have a phat(1000 model) you will definately be able to hack it. I'm not sure if the slim(2000 model) that comes with 4.01 firmware is hacakble. Somebody else will have to post about that.

EDIT: On your PSP Slim box, on this sticker:

have a letter G or above? If it does, it is unhackable.

The thing is that some boxes may not even have that sticker.
Here in Canada, almost all PSP boxes (both Phat and Slim) don't have that sticker..

And, yes, we need to know if both are Phats or Slims.
