Okay so I have RETROARCH and I have dream cast games but...I don't want to waste my time on trying to unlock characters on powerstone2....how do I transfer a save file that I downloaded from game fans. Com to my RETROARCH switch (I have latest bulit)

You can also download and play VMU Backup Tool for Dreamcast, which I used to have everything unlocked in Sonic Adventure 2. But you can only copy saves that are included within the image. Most of the Dreamcast games should be included.
vmu backup tool is some sort of cdi rom? will it work on my switch??

you can search for vmu cd dream on, works too..its a cdi homebrew that contains a shit load of saves that you can write to your vmus.. and you can also get dream explorer for managing slots and other useful stuff right from RA if you don't want to mess with pc

yes, both are homebrews for dreamcast, so you can launch them inside switch RA with flycast and do whatever you want..i've just tested them and imported saves for mvc2 and capcom vs snk2 to unlock everything without wasting time

Nintendo Switch RetroArch. At this point i'm not even sure if you know what homebrew is..
no it is just that ur using a sort form of the name so I was just confused..... do u know where I can find the download of vmu cd dream on?

on the internet like i did
i obviously do know that... what im saying is when i typed in vmu cd dream there where many old links of vmu cd dream created on 2005...how is a 2005 vmu program supposed to work on my switch?

Its a homebrew for Dreamcast that contains a lot of saves for hundreds of games, so it works the same way as your average cdi/gdi rom. And dream explorer is another homebrew that allows you to manage data on your vmus, but for that you can just simply boot into bios honestly (the homebrew is still good tho, it has many other functions)
