Hi, so I have a Nintendo switch I wanna homebrew, the serial number starts with XAW1-001699 and it's not patched so it's probably a switch from late-2017 or early-2018, either way that's good. So I have 32gb but that's not a problem since I just want the cool homebrew features anyways so I have something I don't have but I'll probably buy it later and it's a RCM jig, Its ok since I can just buy it. Also I do have a PC that will always be available to homebrew my switch :), also WARNING ⚠️ IM NOT A PERSON THAT IS ABLE TO SAUGHTER WIRES TOGETHER ⚠️ anyways I have a list I made on paper (shown below 👇) and if I'm missing anything from it please let me know in the comments.

I would recommend a RCM dongle so then you don't need a PC or smartphone to send a payload.
RCMloader for example is pretty good since it also comes with a jig.

Hm ok is it like better or cheaper compared to a RCM jig? Also cool but I really don't want any issues doing it the non-pc way unless its actually better and is easy to setup. Thanks for the help :)

Way more convenient, just keep it in the Switch pouch and it takes seconds to boot into CFW.

Ok cool well can you send like a picture of a tutorial to do this? I don't want to mess anything up. Also I kinda want to make the UI LIKE a computer. Not an ACTUAL PC OS because I just want a UI like that so if there's a custom UI like or exactly like it than say it here (sorry it took a while to reply :/.) (also I'm not installing any stuff like windows, linux, android, none of that. Me just want custom PC looking like UI)

Well, you don't really need one. The RCMloader dongles sold now come with the Hekate payload already on them so as long as you have Hekate, Atmosphere and such already set up on the SD, you just plug in the dongle instead of plugging in a cable to inject. The injection happens automatically as long as you are in RCM.
It needs to be charged to work, though.

An Android phone with Rekado, a jig and a USB-OTG cable works fine for me.
Note that some very old phones don't support USB-OTG.
A jig can be bought for a dollar or you can be the McGuyver and use a paperclip (not recommended though).
The jig is only needed the first time.
After setting up auto-rcm, you don't need it unless you completely turn off the Switch.

If you plan on only using homebrew, then you can use the internal memory and the 32GB sd card should be enough.
If you cannot withstand the urge to become a pirate and want to install some illegally obtained game,
then you'd better set up a emummc on your SD card, stay offline and keep your internal memory clean.
This will keep Nintendo ninjas away.
This will allow you to go online with games you officially purchased without getting a permanent ban from Nintendo.
A card with 64GB would be needed.
But you can always do this afterwards and copy the existing files to a new SD card.

Don't forgot to add this to your list :
- Format the SD card with fat/fat32 (not exFat).
On Switches, exFat works great until Nintendo messes up your card and you loose everything.
- Make a backup of the NAND (you need 32gb of free space on your SD card).
Just in case of any disaster, it's always good to keep a backup around.

Nice! How do I setup the thing on the SD card tho?

Oh, well why do they suck? Are they like, very hard to install or use or something? If yes then I'll just search a tutorial online to set it up
They're all missing some important part of the process, like for example sig patches. None of the guides I've seen are 100% start to finish, so there's no obvious one to link to beginners. Possibly there are ones I've missed though.

Alright, I'll search it up on how to setup my microSD Card when I can. Thanks.
