Homebrew Need help to upgrade from 11.2.0-35U

Greetings, a couple of months ago, when my N3dsxl was on version 11.2.0-35U I installed homebrew, Luma3ds, arm9 and I guess everything I needed for my 3ds to be properly hacked. Right now my cfw, luma and arm9 are from the version I got them when 11.2.0-35U was the latest version. I would like to play on the internet with game like pokemon sumo and and play with Nova sun Umbra Moon mod, but I would need to upgrade my version to 11.5 in order to have access to my pokemon bank and all. I am a bit confused about what and how to properly upgrade without loosing access to my custom firmwares, homebrew and without getting bricked. All the guides seems to be targeted toward setting up a nonhacked n3ds and I would like some pointers as to how to properly update everything.
I am a bit of a hacking illiterate.

yes that would also be an option although then he would need to use it every time he wishes to be online
