Would anyone care to enlighten me on how to get NDS mail working? I can't get it to connect.

Have you been able to get any other WiFi Homebrew to work or is this the first one?

WiFi Homebrew apps can be tricky to get working the first time, have a look at this page for some tips: http://www.ds-xtra.com/Common_Homebrew_Wifi_Problems

The main two tips are:
- use a commercial game to set up your wifi
- use a fixed IP address for your DS (not dynamic IP)

I vaguely remember something about NDSmail not support any encryption on the wireless at all, though I don't know if that's accurate still. Also keep in mind that it's a relatively old app, so it may be using an older version of the homebrew wifi library that doesn't support newer DS Lites.

I think you are thinking about the older versions of NDSMail couldn't use SSL to connect to Gmail (issue fixed (again) in the current version).

I've tested NDSMail (and a fair amount of other Homebrew) with a 2 year old and a 6 month old DS lite, have not got any that don't work. The only handheld compatibility problems I've seen were a long time ago when the DS Lite first came out, but all the good Homebrew has been updated.

Once you have Wi-Fi sorted (use a fixed IP and a router) all Homebrew

should

work fine.

I can't add my WEP key

I'm not sure that my router can set up alternate security measures.

How do I connect to my WEP protected wireless?????

HELP!

Personally NDS Mail works perfectely for me, I have no password but I use MAC filtering to help protect my network from the neighbours. Try that. You could use a normal ds browser such as DSOrganize or Bunjalloo to access your e-mail but NDS Mail is easier

I'm afraid you are wrong.

I just setup NDSMail on my Cyclo, added an RSS feed, went back to the main menu and clicked 'Tranmit' and the feed was downloaded automaticly through my WEP 'protected' network.

I've updated these notes on NDSMail to clarify.

@Aezra: let us know if you still have problems.

@xylos: the config get saved fine to my FAT32 card.

last time i tried to use it the site told me WEP was unsupported and i have WEP so i gave up (i only checked after i tried it). haven't looked at it since, so i guess it must have had an update. sorry
