NAND Gamesave Restore v1.0 by Krafter

    About
NAND Gamesave Restore is used to retrieve gamesaves from an extracted Wii NAND dump. I decided to write this application after recovering many bricked Wii’s. I wanted to make my customers Wii as close to the way it was before the brick as possible. In order to do that, one of the things I had to do was retrieve the gamesaves from the bricked NAND dump. This task could be done manually but it’s time consuming and you don’t know what games you're even working with and if they are worth the trouble. NAND Gamesave Restore will retrieve those saves for you and display the name of the games so you can choose which games you want to restore.

    Requirements
    • Windows XP/Vista/7 with Microsoft .Net Frameworks 4
    • Your extracted NAND dump
    • The game must be played at least once before the restore. If not then a restore isn’t possible.

    Instructions
Choose the path of your NAND dump and a destination for the gamesaves folder to be created. Press the “Get Saves” button to create a list of games. Choose the saves you want and then press the “ > “ button to add them to the restore list (select and press “ < “ to remove games from the list). Press the “Create” button to create the gamesave restore folder. Once the folder is created you need to place it on your SD card and launch one of the two supplied game managers (See below for more details). Navigate to your gamesaves folder on your SD card and the gamesave should be displayed so restore it and be happy.

I enjoyed putting it together. [IMG]

In a near future revision, I will be adding the ability to extract Miis as well.

sweet! U know what else would be awesome? If you added the ability to copy savegames\mii's to an emulated nand, that way no one would have to use a savegame manager while running *neek.

I haven't found the time to use your app but it sure sounds like a really good addition to the wii scene and will make the live of many wii hackers much easier and less time consuming, keep up the good work!

I could have used this app hundreds of time by now. Sweet to see something like this come up. Although repairs are slow now, this will still be a great tool to have. Thank you man.

I can't wait for this tool to work on putting saved games back in emu'ed nand. That's ultimate tools!

Umm, you can already do that by just copying the files to the appropriate directory.

Erm...yes. That's easier said than done, though. An emu-nand has a whole bunch of folders and files with rather cryptic names.

I know a whole bunch of savegames reside in the \title\00010000 folder (they all have their own subfolder), but is that the only location? Is it just copy-pasting the subfolders from a dumped nand into a newly modmii-generated one, or is there more to it?

Use ShowMiiNand and do a Backup All on the real nand dump, then a Restore All on the emu nand.
