i also have a regular 3ds with 4 test points [TP].
i didn't know until you mentioned it.
the serial# on the mobo is C/CTR-CPU-20. [CTR-CPU-01 for the 3 test points]
test points from top to bottom: TP252, TP251, TP253, and TP260.
same as 3 points 3DS except for the TP260.
and based on my other mods, TP260 is CLK. if it's the same then there's no need to
flip the mobo [which what i did to my other reg 3ds] to solder.
planning to dump the nand but it's on the latest FW so i'm kinda lazy to do it.
and yeah, the 3rd one, TP253 is CMD.
This 3DS is it the 2012 version (check back plate)?

Ye, I have that extra CLK port and I tried to use it.

Though, as I've said, the wire didn't want to stick to that point...
I used normal soldering tin (well, more or less my dad assisted me with it) and we tried it ~10 times, no luck with it sticking to the mb...
Is this 3DS the 2012 version (check under back plate).

What is the difference between the 2012 version?

I can't get the tin soldered to the CLR, haven't tried the others after this failed.
I wanted to find out if the 2012 version has the 4 points

I buyed a blue 3DS, the day it was released in europe.
This one has this point i believe (as i remember from a few moths ago).

But the 3DS i need to hardmod is from 2013, and does not have this point.

I opened mine for the first time.
It's 2011, and has only 3 points.

The clk point looks very small, I don't know if I can solder it myself. I'm not confident in my skills.
Maybe I'll ask someone else to do it for me (gamesquest1 maybe?)

Got one from 2011 with 3 points, but also have one from 2011 with 4 points (eu).
I'm troubeling with the CLK points 2 days already, have tried everything, can't get that point soldered. the other points only took a minute.

If someone have any tips? feel free to share

I would recommend using a little flux and tinning both the wire and point with a little solder first, then clean that up, add little move flux to the wire and hold the wire in place right over the point. Apply heat to the wire and the wire and point should join together. If you want some pictures or anything that you think would help let me know.

I can't get the point tinned, it literally just doesn't stick. only the small CLK point on the back doesn't work, the others were done within 2 minutes.

Try cleaning the point with 90% or higher IPA (isopropyl alcohol) first and then try tinning with flux and solder again. you want the pad nice and shinny first

I will try that in the afternoon, thanks

it's the same year and/or serial as the one you posted.

I couldn't find any alcohol, so i used white spirit, it worked fine, i could solder it with only little trouble,
But while assebeling the wire got ripped of, so i will try again in an hour or something.

I got it soldered now, but i don't get the blue screen, i think that dat0 and gnd are connected,

To get the blue screen all you need to do is ground CMD when it first starts, if you ground DAT0 CLK it shouldn't even start up.

Dat0 wasn't grounded,
I think there is a problem with the SD card i'm using,

If the wires are connected to the SD card, it should boot into the blue screen, right? with me it just boots.
I think the SD card was broken, didn't tested it before i used it.

I'm gonna put the GND and DAT0 cable together, and see if it boots, Will post the result in a minute
