Namco Museum Arcade Pac announced for Switch

Bandai Namco will be bringing a compilation pack exclusively to the Nintendo Switch later this year. Titled Namco Museum Arcade Pac, it'll combine Namco Museum and Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 Plus. The former has already been around on the eShop, and includes games such as Galaga, Pac-Man, Splatterhouse, and more. Meanwhile, 2 Plus will offer updated visuals and a brand new Switch-exclusive coop mode. A price wasn't given for the collection, but currently, both games are around $50 total on the eShop. Namco Museum Arcade Pac will launch physically on September 28.

There are some nice classics there. But let’s be honest here. If you’re reading this news snippet on this website, you probably use emulators for the classics on a wealth of devices.

As for Pac-Man CE, you’re cheaper getting it on phone/tablet.

At the price they’re charging, pass man.
(Pun intended).

Can't they come out with something original and not just repeat the same arcade bundle releasea every console...

A quick note on these re-releases.

Many of these companies release these collections so players can't say these games aren't available (or abandon ware) to play legally (Ie. Arcade Machine) so this way they keep their IP as a valuable commodity and can smack down pirates and emulation as illegal as it's hurting their end sales.

That's why Namco has released this collection again and again since the PS1 era. Low cost for the effort, but to keep their IP relevant for the reasons I mentioned.

The pricing for some of this stuff it a little off-putting. I'm sure this is probably going to be around $30 for the combo, mainly because that's what Namco Museum was when it first launched, mainly because I wanted Galaga '88 official on a handheld. I sorta regret buying it because there really wasn't enough content for the asking price (though Tank Force is awesome). Older Namco Museums used to come with a lot more games (34 on 360, as opposed to 11 here). This isn't adding anything but Pac-Man CE 2 Plus, which I would like on the switch, but I'm not paying the $20 they're asking for it. I'll just play the copy I got on PC for $3 until the price drops.

Hey guys, new Namco Museum coming for the next gen of consoles. It will only have three of our games that you haven’t heard of ever, but it’s ok because we’re also throwing in a copy of New Super Pac-Man Championship Edition 3 Plus DX Special Bonus Edition & Knuckles.
