Hey

I want to buy a boxed N64 with an HDMI mod on ebay.
Those are very expensive! :O
What is the best hdmi mod available? Is ultraHDMI the best?

Is it ok if I buy an original N64 with an RGB to HDMI adapter?

I saw ultra hdmi port was selling for $150. On that price add N64 console which is around $50-70 and you have already expensive console. Dk if it's really worth it. Try to wait a bit longer, maybe there will be N64 claccis mini. We might hear about it around holidays this year if it's a thing.

Yes, UltraHDMI is the best. But do be careful buying modded consoles on eBay, I have seen some really shitty mod jobs on there. Horrible soldering, epoxy everywhere, and so on. Example:

I have an RGB modded N64 running through a Framemeister. Nonetheless, I still prefer the video quality and low-latency of playing on my Sony Trinitron with a good S-video cable though. If you want to stay cheap, and get the best possible experience, get a CRT for cheap on craigslist or a flea market, then get a good quality s-video cable for another $10-20 bucks.
