Yes but how do you want to emulate the N64 if we can't have the SNES emulated correctly?
Time will tell how good the SNES Emu for the SCDS2 (extra CPU and stuff) will be.
But yeah, I highly doubt the N64 Emu will even work (maybe the CPU is good enough, but what about the graphics, like Norm mentioned?)...

On their own forums their own "leader" admits that most of them have no clue about this at all...
SRSLY... Why are these kids getting their SCDS2 and a def kit for free THIS EASY...

I might give the SC team a call claiming I'm working on a PS3 Emulator for SCDS2... -.-

All this talk over the DSTWO's CPU being able to allow play of 5th generation games and completely ignoring the DS's GPU's power is getting annoying

Isn't the main problem that the DS has no GPU? By that I mean it doesn't actually have any dedicated 3D hardware limiting its graphics. I'm probably talking bullshit mind.

If you're thinking about SNEMulDS, then you're not really thinking. SNEMulDS works completely off of the DS's 66Mhz ARM9 and 33Mhz ARM7 CPUs as well as uses 2D acceleration, while the DSTWO has a 360Mhz+ MIPS CPU inside it (though no 2D acceleration). Plus, depending on the work they do, they could be porting SNES9X for all we know, which has great compatibility.

It has a custom GPU in it, capable of up to ~2000 tris or ~1500 quads per frame (x60 for an amount in seconds), or a mix of the two for a poly count in between. Toon shading, anti-aliasing, etc. Of course though it wasn't really advanced, even for something back in 2004.

DSTWO has a MIPS cpu but its no where never powerful enough on its own to do the 3d in software so n64 emulation wont ever work at anywhere above 1-2fps and the idiots who started that project are 12 year olds with no idea what the fuck they are talking about.
Even 12 years old kids could figure out that playable N64 emulation on the DS is impossible.
Anyway... good to see someone hushing up the kids

I noticed this on the supercard forum from the beginning and just ignored it since these kids really have no idea what they are dealing with.. In fact one of the latest posts is that the SDK is linux based so they were like.. can you make it windows environment compatible. *chuckles*

No, there will be no N64 emulation until 3DS. And even that is a maybe.
Although I agree with you, I need to remind you of what everyone once said one year ago:
EveryoneTHERE WILL NEVER BE GBA EMULATION ON A DS THROUGH SLOT 1!!!

True true...

I love how we all said that as if it was standard law.
No one had thought that a simple CPU and some more RAM could solve that.

Perhaps when the cost goes down and things can be further compressed, a CPU capable of running N64 can be made for a DS cart.

More than 1 year. The iPlayer was out a year ago.

Those "12 year old" are really annoying with their spam in the supercard forum, their "Leader" is the worst.
Read somewhere around there that they have 19 Beta testers...
Kinda strange, I guess they didnt even write on line of code, but they already have beta testers.
And the team adds themselves to the beta testers...

Yes, that's true. The problem here is that though an N64 Emulator might be possible, it would be no where near playable. To the point where it might as well be considered an impossibility since it's not going to be worth using it if you get 2 FPS a second. Oh, and also...on the GBA on a slot 1 card thing, it IS impossible normally.

That's why you need a cart that has a built in CPU like the iPlayer or DSTwo.

If you are really good, I think you might end up with a proof of concept like nincest64 on GP2X...

It runs two N64 Demo... at 1FPS.

DS/DSTWO are lacking several important hardware parts to achieve N64 emulation, and no one want to create an N64 emulator from scratch...
