Hi! I just received a N2DS LL that I bought used on eBay. When I plug the console in, the orange charging light comes on, but the console will not turn on when I press the power button. The blue power light does not turn on at all. The images on the eBay listing showed the console powered on, so let's proceed under the assumption that I HAVEN'T been scammed for now :cry:

I suspect this is a hardware issue (maybe a ribbon cable got knocked loose during transit?) so I'm purchasing some triwing screwdrivers which should get to me soon. In the meantime, does anyone have any ideas as to what the issue could be? I've tried unplugging and plugging the SD card back in and reformatting the card. I'll also leave it to charge overnight to see if that revives it. Any help is appreciated.

I got this problem once with a normal 2ds after I replaced the power socket and thought I destroyed it. After I tried it again iwth the power socket the problem was fixed... dont know how. try to get a Battery and test it with that

It does sound like the eBay seller attempted to replace the power socket as well. Can you message them and ask about that? Or, ask for suggestions as to why it won't power on like the pictures suggested.

--Hey, maybe they didn't even send you the correct N2DS LL? Is the one in the picture possibly a different one?

It wouldn't be the SD Card. It should boot without an SD Card.

If it was a ribbon cable that came loose, then the power light would come on for a second, I would say you might have a console with corrosion, or possible water/liquid damage, you might not be able to fix it.

Hey y'all, thanks for the input! The 2DS is working. After the screwdrivers arrived, I checked the battery and the contacts were really gross (also looks like it's not OEM). I cleaned it a bit and reinserted it and the 2DS turned on. I haven't encountered any issues so far, so I'm considering this issue resolved. Thanks again for your ideas!

Be careful though, usually if there is corrosion in one spot its in another too.
