Hacking N00b with Sky3ds and mariokart issues

Hi and thanks for reading
My son got a 3ds an a sky3ds (blue button) for xmas, we have used diskwriter to put several games on using the latest template etc, but the game he really wants (mario kart 7) wont go on for some reason,
it keeps popping up that the template doesnt contain the correct information?
The game is eu as well as the console
is there a way that i can make the information and update the template myself as i have tried several roms and they all come up with the same error.
