Homebrew n00b hacking guide

Hey all. I found an old DSI and power brick at a charity shop for $2 and was wondering if there is a n00b's guide for hacking it. I'd like to be able to run ROMs off an SD card but the console is wiped. Screen and buttons seem to work, as does the wifi. Running OS Ver 1.4.5u and I don't have FlipNote Studio (or anything else) installed. Any pointers on where to begin?

I believe your only option is to buy an R4 as you don't have flipnote

Just note that you don't have to do the downgrade part, it's really outdated and the only time downgrading was relevant was when we were waiting for RocketLauncher to come out (which will probably never happen as we have a better exploit now (Unlaunch)). Everything else should still apply though.
