Hardware My Wii remote almost died

ok so I was charging my wii remote over night and when I woke up I tried to use my wii remote and it didn't work so I take out the battery and examine it.........turns out the battery melted and now I can't play wii now cuz well no batteries, wii remote is fine though but I need a new battery and i'm definitely not buying that one again so can some one recommend one for me

on the table charging and then overnight it melted

Might be the charger at fault rather than the rechargeable battery - the cut off (when its fully charged) may have malfunctioned.
