So then method 1 doesn't alter cIOS36_rev8?

If something should go awry... or I want to undo things and go back down to 3.2U or 3.4 with all the old bells and whistles... what would I need to do?

By the way, did you try running other wiifri patched games from the disc channel? It always reports a disc error. And GeckoOS is not able to launch it either (it gets stuck when launching) Is it the same with yours?

Only games which are scrubbed but not patched (NTSC-J->NTSC-U or PAL) will work fine. Yours the same?

as far as I know I don't have any games patched with wiifrii, i have an NTSC wii and only use NTSC games on it (I have had a few PAL games but the wiikey played them just fine on its own without any patches and whatnot from WHAT I REMEMBER, but at the same time i vaguelly remember patching a game or two as well -- i'll have to dig through some of my older discs and take a look). GeckoOS... honestly I have no clue what it is or what it's used for (well, until just now when i searched for it...)

A lot of people have the software mods, but I havn't used any since i had the wiikey and everything was working just fine.. and I got my wii on launch day so I don't have the problems that people with newer wiis apparently have.

i'm behind the times i was still on 3.2 u before i updated the other day [the NEWEST game i think i've played was Mario Kart or the Wario game, with the exception of christmas time i played Raving Rabbids TV party a friend had it (original disc)... I don't think ive played anything more recent yet] and sort of abandoned my wii for awhile once i got my xbox 360 and i've been busy with other things... a lot of things like starfall and other things i frequently see on these boards I have no clue what they are. I modded my system with a WiiKey a long time ago... I play original and a few backup games on disc. As far as I know none are scrubbed... again, I'm sort of a newbie and havn't been following all this stuff... mainly because i had the hardware mod and none of it applied to me. I havn;t been following any of the forums or anything. I installed the homebrew channel long ago, played a few homebrew games and tried a few emulators out, but thats as far as I went really.

I havn't even played house of the dead, madworld, or any other games released in the last few months simply because i havn't had the time so as far as those games working and all the IOS's and such... i got no clue

So i guess to answer your question... i don't know

I've played several games the past few days, wads, virtual console, as well as a few disc games and havn't had any issues. The only problem i'm having is installing new wads. As far as HomeBrewChannel applications that DON'T work, i don't know because I havnt really been using it and was only running a few emulators previously

sorry i couldnt be of greater help

--- i just miss being able to install WADS... now that I have SD card support (and i'm unemployed :-P) I can play around a little more with everything and start reading up on everything i missed

No it doesnt alter Cios at all........... if you wish to return to previous 3.2-3.4 just run IOSdowngrader then run CIOSdowngrader

Can you be a bit more detailed if we need to use IOSdowngrader and CIOSdowngrader to go back to 3.4U or 3.2U. Maybe a tutorial or Links?

If you need to, run them heres how.

Run iosdowngrader first using HBC.....................let it finish.

run Ciosdowngrader from hbc............

choose the system you want to downgrade too then let it finish................and your done

On Ciosdowngrader... did you mean choose the system or choose the firmware?

Seems basic enough. Currently I have the following from the Wii Hack Pack I got.

IOS DOWNGRADER V1.1
Custom IOS Downgrader v1.2

Is that what I need? Or is there something else or newer? And all this can be done through HBC?

kongsnutz - no work around on 4.0 being able to install new wads without previously installed cmos (I have wiikey, working HBC, and a few wads installed before the update that remained intact)?

Both Bloodlust and I are in the exact same boat and he said he is trying to work on a solution... as of this moment it has not been resolved, however. I'll add you to the list of PM's with instructions once the issue gets solved, whether its by kong or anyone else, once I can confirm that it worked for me

Off to bed, muchos gracias for all the help, as always

NO you can't install CIOS on 4.0..........some guys on here installed IOS60 before updating to 4.0 and that is how im making a workaround

Yes to choose the System? Or yes to Choose the Firmware for Ciosdowngrader?

And those were the files I need to use and they were the latest versions?

Just want to make damn sure I understand this all.
