I just took out the SD card to load some ROMs on, and it got corrupted. No idea how this happened, and Windows deleted the broken file upon repair, so I had to reinstall Aroma. What to do?

By the way you're explaining things, Windows corrupted the SD card, not the Wii U. Is this correct?

No, I took the SD out of the Wii U, then plugged it into my PC, and I'm assuming the Wii U converted it maybe? Windows just deleted the file that was basically my Homebrew stuff but compressed into one file during the repair.

Do not rush when unplugging SD from WiiU after powering off, count to 5 then unplug.
Aroma tends to write something during powered off, if you use an HDD with indicator, you can see it flashes even after power light turned red.

Hello,

Properly reformat your SD card (FAT32), then reinstall the applications you need on it.
Use a reputable brand-name SD card; don't use cheap, off-brand cards, you'll always have problems.

This is just my opinion:

I always use SD cards, not microSD cards.

It could be that the SD adapter is faulty ==> something to check.

When you buy SD or microSD cards, they have different read and write speeds; it's up to you to choose what you want.

Other people on the site can confirm the different SD cards for you.

I use these two different SD cards (they work correctly):

Yeah, was thinking of getting a card just for the Wii U, an SD worked just fine with my Wii, and since the two are similar enough to run Wii games natively, I suppose I'll get one to try it out. If a mod just close this, since it doesn't corrupt anymore.
EDIT: Just swapped to SD, and the files no longer corrupt. So that's good!
EDIT 2: Also, how do I close the thread lol.
