Hardware My HDMI Predicament

thing is im trying to avoid using my switch headphone jack and use the audio from the hdmi port. otherwise i would ccontinue using earbuds or smth

Well on dock mode it is weird if you have a headphone connected anyway, using the audio cable wouldn't affect much, using the audio splitter and male to male cable would be the cheapest as oppose buying more splitter to test with or new monitor.

yea i figured it was just the splittters being picky. i doubt theres much i can do but oh well. thanks for your guy's suggestions

It may not be, it could be that the audio splitter just doesn't work properly. Have you actually tried it just on its own with the Switch dock, and verified it works properly?

Then again do what @TotalInsanity4 said first, see if the problem is the HDMI with the audio output.

yea i tested it separateness and it works fine. just seems to be both together it doesnt work

Ok, then follow @Hayato213's advice from here on out, because this isn't my area of expertise. It does sound like they just aren't playing nice together, though

If it works with the HDMI with the audio output then the problem would be the one input two outputs HDMI splitter.

Or the signals they're producing are somehow incompatible, i.e. both are expecting pure HDMI signals and rejecting the modified signal for whatever reason

I think it would more on incompatible then what I said earlier.
