Hardware My Girlfriends laptops being weird?

Please help, its making a really weird sound out of no where.

so, you got multiple girlfriends who have different laptops and each one is acting weird?
or did you mean "My girlfriend's laptop is acting weird" Jk

to me, that sounds like the fan is going out on the laptop. you can either replace the fan yourself, have someone else replace the fan, or just leave it until it stops altogether.

it could also be microphone feedback if the microphone on the laptop has the gain set too high.
you can test this by disabling or muting the microphone and checking if the sound went away.

Specs? How old is it? Does this sound occur on boot up?
