Hacking My CycloDS arrived with an 'odd' card reader...

Not aiming to be sarcastic or anything, just an honest question, but what makes the website appear 'shady'?

And as mentioned before, $40 for a Cyclo is usually too good to be true.

I have not seen this complaint on TC forums either...
The branded CycloDS reader does the job just fine... Been using it for just over 3 months now maybe a lil less.
It reads/writes SD/SDHC perfectly and has NEVER corrupted or caused problems worth mentioning...

Im going to have to disagree with you on that one. it does read sd cards perfectly, but my sdhc card (4 GB) seems to get shut down when i try to put big files on it (Like cooking guide) and when it does shut down, the process is stopped, and the card loads back up almost immediately.

TeamCyclops being European I expect import costs and taxes are cheaper over here. £30 is the average for the Cyclo' over here.

Much like anything that's US based costs us brits a fortune compared.

I can tell you how to perform a magic trick... wanna hear ?!?!?!
Instead of extracting from the zip to your SDHC or SD mem. card.. and wonder why big files will have issues or even small ones writing onto it...
Give the reader some slack and extract your files to your PC first... then copy/cut to the mem. card.
Sorry there was no manual in your box explaining how to efficiently use external readers and preventing possible corruption of data transferred
