Ok. So I've a bit of a problem and I'm curious, is it safe to update from 11.5 to 11.6 when my only access to Homebrew is Doodlebomb (I haven't updated SwapNote thankfully)? And if that ends up working badly, what do I do to get Homebrew back?

Is there anyone/thing that can help me with my little problem?

Also, another thing, I currently have a custom theme on my 3DS and was wondering if I updated, something might go wrong there too? Help please!

I highly recommend installing a CFW by some means. Either way the exploit should still work if the app isn't updated by accident. However i don't rightly know if there are working payloads for the hbl on that firm. Irrc the r4i gold card which supports NTRboot hax is still pretty cheap. This and a magnet are all one needs to install CFW on any 3ds

If you are actually worried, then you just need to buy an R4i Gold. With that cart you can flash it to be an NTRBoot cart and hack ANY OFW update. This includes all previous, current, and future OFW updates, because this is a bootROM exploit can can't be patched out without a hardware revision.
