I've modified mplayer with the next changes:

- dvd access from devoptab (tipolosko) + read ahead cache (speed up dvd) (from me)
- added mplayer cache to network (better streaming)
- added power off from wiimote button and from menu
- detect if is executed from hbc or from channel to do an rigth exit (SYS_RETURNTOMENU) (not tested)
- clear content when a device is not found (before if you open sd and then open usb and there isn't usb you see sd content)

changes has been send to chris (original creator of mplayer) and he is going to integrate them soon.

Can you do a version that had sequential and random play for mp3 and other music files? This version only plays mp3s one at a time.

you need to make a folder in root C drive called films and make it network shared/

Maybe I've missed something here, but where in the instructions (not yours) does it state that it only works for shares named 'films' held on the root of C:

?

theirs no way it NEEDS to be in C:\films .. i have mine in \my documents\videos shared as videos and it works fine. make sure you give correct permissions. are you sure you have the version of mplayer with SMB ? .. has to be mplayerwii_00.7_v4 modified by rodries.

your wii internet / network works tho to right ?

have it in another directory, you'll have problems. I use mplayer wii r19 latest by rodies

and Samba works smart for me

Well as I've said the shares can be accessed fine by my laptop, so permissions are not the issue.

Network should be ok, the only addresses I've blocked in my router are the wii.com ones

@DJ I'm not an idiot mate I'm work in the IT industry and know how to retrieve the network IP of my PC matey.

IP assigned by my router =YES (honestly it's the correct .dol) If you do it like i said you wont have any "Problems"
Just check "support" what ever IP your router, usb dongle etc is, use that..
