no worries dj will do that and test out when I get home at work at the moment. Will also see if I can get the stream working on geexbox to test the difference in quality and speed.

Cheers

Easier to just make a text file mplayerwii.conf..

Code:
# MPlayerWii configuration file
# This file needs to be in the ROOT FOLDER of your SD card!

# Set the following setting to 1 to enable the PAL Widescreen
# ratio fix
palwsfix = 1

#stream = blah

Hi guys

I tried to get this working and everything was set up fine all the files have been shared on the root drives. when I put into the we and load up mplayer i select the smb share and it gives me the initialising network and then the wii ip address and then just goes back to the top of the list. I have tried this with username and just with ip address and it is just the same. I think someone had this problem a few pages back but could not find a solution for it. any help would be great.

Thanks

quick question,
wonder if anyone has gotten this problem.

at times the video freezes up or jams the console....

usually playing Divx Movies.

ive tried from the SD card, from USB.. and wifi. same result they will play up to like 80% of movie then near the end everything starts to go MATRIX like " really slow vidoe " but the sound keeps going normal

Hi Dj

I have been through your tutorial and it still doesnt work. I have the treams in the mplayerwii.conf file and they show up when i ope the player. On the root of my C: and D: I have 2 folders 1 tvshows and 1 films both have been shared an all users have full control allocated I have no password on my network and have used bothe the username@ ip address and just ip address but when i select the stream in mplayer just comes up with network initialised and then wii ip address and the just goes back to the top of the list at pla files from sd card. No matter how may times i select the stream it just jumps back to the top of the list.

Any help would be great I have been at this for hours and hours but still cant get it to work.

Thanks

Hi Dj

I checked my router and the wii has a static ip set up for it. i am using vista 64bit but that surely shouldn't make that much difference everything in your tutorial i have done. no firewalls on router all been disabled and the wii's ip has been allowed full access to network. all folders have been shared and all users given full control. is there any ports on the router that i need to forward just incase there is a conflict in there?

Thanks

Hopefully will be fixing my bricked Wii tonight.

Does anyone have a link to a working channel version (for PAL Wii) for MPlayerWii ? Rather than the one which bricked my wii !!!!

@AdamBrunt: I made this version below and am using it ever since on my PAL Wii.
I sure hope this is not the channel that bricked your Wii...?!

MPlayer 007, version 4 (? dunno, says so in the DOL link).
Region 2 WAD, tested on PAL console, working!

What's this newest version about: http://wiibrew.org/wiki/MPlayerWii#Unofficial_Versions
Who made it? Does it really fix the samba browsing?
(it says release 19, version 0.07.4 build 2)

hi there, Rodries made it, well updated some SMB code etc, more divx are compatible via dvd and stream, no code dumping etc, it works perfect!

@harryk: no, yours is the version I should have got.

The one I used was the link with the hearts all over the picture.

As for a new version to "fix the samba browsing", does samba browsing not work properly at the moment then ?

Ok, but does it not work properly if you use the channel harryk linked to ?

Also, how easy is it to make a channel out of rodries code ?

In fact, how easy is it generally to turn WAD/DOLs into channels if you know what I mean ?

If you use the MPlayer Version of DolForwarder you don't have to ever inject a new dol
